TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. THE AGREEMENT

By placing an order with Build Your Blinds, you confirm that you have verified all measurements and product selections—including fabric color, mount type, and control sides—are correct. As a custom-made-to-order service, production begins immediately. Custom blinds are manufactured in 5 business days.

2. COLOUR ACCURACY & SAMPLES

While we strive for digital accuracy, screen settings vary significantly between devices. We strongly recommend ordering up to 6 free express samples before purchasing. Build Your Blinds cannot accept returns or provide refunds based on colour or texture discrepancies if a physical sample was not ordered prior to the final purchase.

3. MEASUREMENTS & DEDUCTIONS

  • Recess Fit (Blinds): We will apply standard industry deductions (approx. 3-5mm per side) to ensure your blinds operate freely within the window frame.

  • Face Fit (Blinds): The product will be manufactured to the exact "Blind Size" measurements provided.

  • Wall to Wall (Curtains): If you select Wall to wall, enter the full opening width. We deduct 20mm (10mm each side) from the width you enter. The track is manufactured to that reduced size.

  • Not Wall to Wall (Curtains): If you select Not wall to wall, the track is manufactured to the exact width you enter (finished track width). We make no width deduction.

  • Drop (Curtains): Measure from the top of the track (the ceiling, if Top Fit) to where you want the curtain to stop. We manufacture so the hem lands at that measurement. We allow for the track and heading (S-fold, including a 23mm workroom allowance) in the workroom. We do not deduct an extra floor gap. The 23mm heading allowance is applied in the workroom only — it is not a customer size input.

  • Uneven floors: If the floor is unlevel, measure the drop at several points along the track. Use the shortest measurement if you want a gap everywhere; use the longest if you want the hem to puddle or kiss the floor everywhere. You are responsible for choosing which measurement to submit.

  • Responsibility: As a DIY-focused service, the customer is responsible for the accuracy of all measurements submitted, including measuring drop at multiple points on unlevel floors. Once an order enters our automated production queue, changes cannot be guaranteed. While we offer a discounted remedy for measurement errors under our 'Measurement Mistake Guarantee' (up to 2 replacement products per order at up to 35% off), full refunds or free replacements are not provided for customer-supplied measurement errors.

4. MANUFACTURING LEAD TIMES

Our standard manufacturing turnaround is 5 business days for blinds. During peak seasonal periods (such as pre-Christmas), this may extend slightly. You will receive automated tracking details via email as soon as your order is dispatched from our Melbourne facility.

5. LIABILITY & INSTALLATION

Build Your Blinds is a supply-only company. We are not liable for any costs, damages, or third-party contractor fees associated with the installation of our products. Our liability is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the specific physical product supplied if found to be faulty.

6. MEASUREMENT MISTAKE GUARANTEE

If your product doesn't fit due to a measurement error, we won't leave you hanging. Under our Measurement Mistake Guarantee, we will replace up to 2 products per order at up to 35% off. This ensures you get the perfect fit without paying full price twice. Contact support within 14 days of delivery to initiate a replacement.

Conditions:

  • Up to 2 products may be replaced per order, at up to 35% off the current RRP.

  • Each replacement must be for the same product and colour.

  • The new measurements must be within 10% of the original dimensions.

  • You must notify us within 14 days of delivery.

  • Return shipping of the original item and shipping of the replacement item are at the customer's expense.

7. GOVERNING LAW

These terms and your purchase are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
